Elise Joseph Foundation

Serving the Haitian and Haitian-American community through education, cross cultural promotion, health promotion and humanitarian relief.

EDUCATION

The Elise Joseph Foundation offers educational programs to the community by offering various workshops and seminars which are culturally tailored to meet the needs of Haitian and Haitian-American adults and youth.

Nutritional Program
The Elise Joseph Foundation in partnership with Youth Service of America launched the United Health Heroes Nutritional Education Program to promote Global Youth Service Day. The program began in Spring 2009 in the Haitian community of Philadelphia in collaboration with Taylor’s Wholesome Foods Workshop and Missionary Church of Jesus Christ of the Good Samaritan.  In spring 2010, the program will be offered to two Haitian churches in the community.  The program educate Haitian children, youth and young adults ages 5 to 25 about nutrition and train them how to prepare nutritious Haitian meals for their families, church, and communities. It includes nutritional education workshops and hands-on cooking classes.

Haitian Culture Training / Orientation
Another component of our cross-cultural promotion is Haitian Culture Training and Orientation offered to churches and groups interested in sending missionaries to Haiti. It includes training on Haitian culture and customs, church practices, Haitian Creole lessons, etc. The program prepares individuals and missionaries to do missions work in Haiti. Another component of this program is to work collaboratively with churches and groups to provide cross cultural training to the non-Haitian community in the United States through workshops and seminars.   Organizations we have served included:

  • Compassion World Missions
  • Deliverance Evangelistic Church Missions Department
  • Promised Land Family Church
